Romans 9:21-23 God's wrath and mercy are products of God's responsible love
Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honored use and another for dishonorable use? What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory--
(Romans 9:21-23 ESV)
God makes vessels of wrath and vessels of mercy. Both God's wrath and God's mercy are products of God's love.
Out of God's love (because God loves us) uses wrath as an instrument of His power.
If the wrath instrument were a trumpet, then the breath blown would be God's power. This trumpet produces a sound. The sound produced is a symbol of God's love.
If the wrath instrument were a hammer, then the arm of God's love is used to hit the object. When the hammer hits, it may hurt (the pain shows God's power). Yet it is still a demonstration that God loves you.
If the wrath instrument were an illness. then the virus or disease is a form of God's power. God uses His power to demonstrate His love to you.
